    Dear City of Sedona-

With the holiday weekend approaching, I just wanted to drop you all a note to encourage the City to have plenty of officers in place for the weekend and to coordinate efforts with the Forest Service Department and County.

I just want to remind the City and the City Staff that extra people will be coming up for day trips, and return trips through Sedona after their visits to Flagstaff. The hotels in Sedona have been almost 100% full on the weekends this last month. We will also be getting the influx of collage kids using Oak Creek Canyon, which may lend to a “perfect storm” this weekend.

Several weeks ago, the Forest Service and County cracked down on traffic in Oak Creek Canyon and on illegal parking. This effort made a huge difference. The City did the same thing over the Easter holiday, and this effort worked tremendously in keeping traffic and issues at bay.

I would encourage the City of Sedona to have officers in place this coming Saturday, Sunday and Monday and try to coordinate your efforts with the Forest Service and County.

    Thank you.

    Healing Paws
