City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (May 15, 2015) – It’s back!  Enjoy camping at Sunset Park in Sedona with all of the benefits and none of the drawbacks to camping in the wild.  Sedona Parks and Recreation is pleased to offer to our community and visitors the opportunity to camp with food provided, activities planned, and restrooms nearby, all while the beautiful scenery of Sedona surrounds you.  The event takes place on June 5 and 6 beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday evening and ending at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Sunset Park is located at 655 Sunset Drive.  For only per tent (if you provide your own) or per tent (if we provide it), participants can join others for a night of camping under the stars, viewing stars through a telescope, and being a part of group yoga in the morning.  This event is great for first time campers as well as seasoned campers that want to camp close to home.

So much is included in the small $15 or $35 registration fee.  Set up your tent at 5 p.m. and enjoy the splash park.  Afterwards at the campfire, roast hot dogs provided by Whole Foods.  Children can have fun in the park and adults can relax in the fresh air.  Frisbees, balls and games are provided.  JD Maddy, President of Astronomers of the Verde Valley, will have telescopes set up for star gazing.  Join other campers around the bonfire to roast s’mores provided by Parks and Recreation.  In addition, a local musician will entertain everyone with campfire songs.
