logo_madeinclarkdale2Clarkdale AZ (November 3, 2014) – Made in Clarkdale (MIC), as part of its charter, is offering many art education sessions during the Made In Clarkdale Art Show Dec 5th through Dec 14th at the Clark Memorial Clubhouse in historic downtown Clarkdale.

MIC invites schools throughout Verde Valley to bring classes during schooldays to experience the show’s exhibit and be taught by Member Artists. Last year approximately 300 students attended. This year’s offerings may include painting, clay sculpture, jewelry making, glass beads, playing with glitter and science as art, all creative adventures as students learn to appreciate the possibilities of art.  If an area teacher would like to sign up their class, they can contact Made In Clarkdale at info@madeinclarkdale.org or phone 928-301-9798.

20141103_micIn addition to the Verde Valley’s school’s student programs, Made In Clarkdale educational events include:

    • Sunday, Dec 7th 1-3pm Arcosanti will again give two thought-provoking and stimulating public presentations.  Cosanti Foundation President Jeff Stein and Arcosanti resident architect and ceramist, Nadia Begin will present two discussion/seminars – “Arcosanti and Urban Alternatives” and “The Notion of Craft.”
    • Saturday Dec 12th, from 10am – 2pm artists offer a number of demonstrations and short discussions about their art for the public.
    • The Student Invitational Art Show at The Corner Gallery free opening night reception Friday, Nov 7th 5pm-8pm, exhibiting work by Mingus Union HS and Jerome-Clarkdale Students through Dec. 14th with an “Artist meet Artist” evening Nov 19th, 7-8:30pm.
