logo_UniversityWomenOfSedonaSedona AZ (March 13, 2014) – Elaine Hanson will present a program to the University Women of Sedona on the recent Sedona Peace Week at 10 a.m., Monday, April 7, at The Church of the Red Rocks.

Hanson was the founder of Sedona Peace Week which, with Barbara Litrell as chair, involved fifteen free workshops and three public gatherings from Feb 2 to Feb 7. It culminated in the World Peace Dance program on Feb 7, with Hanson as Artistic Director and choreographer. Hanson will give an overview of these events as well as relate her life-long interest in the body-mind-spirit connection.

A graduate with a BFA in dance from the University of Arizona and a post-grad in theology and law, Hanson has taught and been involved in many types and styles of dance and performance in Arizona and Minnesota, of which she is a dual citizen. For instance, she was the choreographer for the Headwaters site of “One River Mississippi,” a national, multi-venue performance to raise environmental awareness of water issues worldwide. She regards dance and movement as a primary path to spiritual unfoldment in her life.

    Beatles Tribute at Blazin’ M

I can honestly say, having grown up in the Bronx in the 60s, that if it had not been for the Beatles I most likely would have grown up to be a criminal or been killed in a violent gang war.
