By now you have received the publicity pamphlet for the New Community Plan. I urge you not to rely on this pamphlet for your sole source of information in helping you decide your vote. I recommend you take the time to read through the Plan and come to your own conclusions. (You probably read about mine in the pamphlet.) You’ll have to read in between the lines to fathom the true effects of the Plan, because it is written to appeal to universal themes, upon which we can agree, but which would actually be made moot by the application on the Plan. Study the plan and decide for yourself. I beg you to take the time to do so. It’s important to see through the hype and banalities, if you want to preserve our small-town character and the fiscal solvency of the city. The fact that we are called a city is an indication of where the powers that be want to take us. So please do some thorough analysis and critical thinking about the Plan in order to make an informed vote.

The “NEW COMMUNITY PLAN” provides for the TRANSFER OF DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS.
A look at the “FUTURE LAND USE MAP” reveals 12 “Community Focus Areas (CFAs)” and approximately the same number of “Planned Areas.” Properties in the “Planned Area” designations are subject to “Rezonings consistent with Community Plan.”–Priority #1. The Rezonings for Consistency Partners are: “City Attorney, Planning and Zoning Commission, City Council.”
As a matter of fact, property owners in the “Planned Areas” received a vague “Land Use Change Notification” letter from Mike Raber, City of Sedona Community Development, allegedly last-minute. Protests were not listened to by the City Council.
VOTE “NO” and ensure protection of private property rights and property values.
