SEDONA, Ariz. — The city invites the public to attend two upcoming open houses to learn about and provide input on Sedona’s Balanced Housing Strategy.

The first open house will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026, at the Hub at Posse Grounds, 525 Posse Ground Road. The second open house will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2026, at the same location.

At these events, community members can learn about Sedona’s Balanced Housing Strategy and share feedback with city staff.

In Sedona, balanced housing refers to an appropriate mix and amount of housing — including price, size, tenure and type — that reasonably meets the needs of those who want to live in Sedona, including households that support the local economy and quality of life. The strategy aims to balance housing growth while protecting Sedona’s natural and cultural environment.

For more information, contact Housing Coordinator Laura Stewart at (928) 203-5071 or email lstewart@sedonaaz.gov.

While there are some good data in the report, the conclusions and strategy are myopic and unserious to me.

If you recently moved to Sedona, you may notice that every four years, residents vote on something called Home Rule. The July 21 vote is simply about who controls Sedona’s city budget.
