Yavapai Baseball strengthened its future roster with the commitment of 18 future Roughriders from four states and two countries. All eighteen will join the program on campus in August.
First year Recruiting Coordinator/Assistant Coach Chris Jimenez led the efforts that produced this highly anticipated class.
“I want to thank Coach Jimenez and Coach Succow for their tireless efforts,” Head Coach Marc MacMillan shared. “As a staff, we set out to identify a large freshman class that valued the opportunity to represent YC, understood the history of Yavapai Baseball, and fully embraced the expectations that come with being a Roughrider. We’re excited about the character, attitude, and competitiveness of these talented student athletes and look forward to seeing their impact with our returning Riders.”
    The current class includes:
Axel Akau (UT/Waiakea High School/Hilo, HI)
Caleb Adams (LHP-OF/The Colony HS /Lewisville, TX)
Preston Berg (RHP/Corona del Sol HS/Tempe, AZ)
Wyatt Bundy (OF-1B/Red Mountain High School/Mesa, AZ)
Tayven Carreira (C/Kailua High School/Honolulu, HI)
Clayton Cooper (OF/Basha High School/Chandler, AZ)
    Tyke Daniels (RHP-OF/Queen Creek/Phoenix, AZ)
Dylan Fisher (RHP/Pinnacle High School/Phoenix, AZ)
Jackie Gross (INF/Coronado High School/El Paso, TX)
Everett Hagen (RHP-OF/Desert Mountain HS/Scottsdale, AZ)
Kael Leon (INF/Shadow Ridge HS/Surprise, AZ)
Daniel Martinez (C-1B/Canyon View HS/Litchfield Park, AZ)
    Andrew Martin (INF/Sandra Day O’Connor HS/Phoenix, AZ)
Tage McKinley (INF/IMG Academy/Park City, UT)
Zachary Mermis (C/Verrado High School/Buckeye, AZ)
Mitchell Rauckman (LHP/St. Joseph High School/Saskatoon, SK)
Simon Slapeta (INF/Bradford Senior College/Gordon, NSW)
Aiden Sloan (RHP/Vauxhall High School/Great Falls, MT)
Berg is the only junior college player ranked in the Top 20 of Prep Baseball Report’s Arizona Class of 2026. Cooper, Daniels, Hagen, and Leon also earned recognition, each ranking in PBR’s Top 100. In Perfect Game’s Arizona Class of 2026 State Rankings, Berg is listed at No. 46 and joins Fisher in the Top 75. Additionally, Perfect Game ranks Carriera as one of Hawaii’s top 2026 catchers and McKinley among the Top 25 players from Utah.
