… it was down to Lake Pleasant early this morning … cold, windy and very smokey best describes conditions down there ,,, and the wind made birds seek shelter in quiet bays and such. The ride to the east side of the lake was slow and I got the wind driven splashes of water to the face … thank heavens I layered up this morning. It was nice in the sheltered coves though and we got a few photos … most of the birds were anxious with the winds and got up long before we got near them.

Above is an Osprey just releasing his grip on a tree in the water and taking to flight … a little motion effects and he is turned into a super star going into warp speed!

Below is a pair of Common North American Loons we found in another sheltered bay … we also saw a lot of Gadwall’s, Common Mergansers, Golden Eyes and more … would have had a lot of good shots had we been able to get close, but they spooked every time and 200 yards was as close as we ever got.

Maybe winter has finally arrived … love the almost summer weather we have had, but it is time for it to go 🙂

Have a beautiful day, smile and give thanks for all we have … friends, family a measure of good health and a beautiful little planet to call home.

    Cheers,

    Ted

A bird flies through the sky and I fl with it. I am in
each pearl of moisture sparkling in the Sun. I lie lazy
on the clouds. And I acknowledge my kinship with
    each winged thing.

I see all as one, and nothing repels me, as this new\
day climbs noiselessly out of the valley of night.

Peace lies over the world and over the world of my
    soul.
