Join percussionist Maria Vomlehn Flurry and composer/pianist Henry Flurry on a musical journey that blends the familiar with the unexpected, offering a unique concert experience that transcends time, place, and genre.

Featuring a wide range of music, from classical pieces like Ave Maria and the soulful sounds of New Orleans to Henry’s original compositions, audiences will be treated to whimsical pieces inspired by snapshots from everyday life, such as Henry’s popular suite based on the family cat:  Jasmine Suite, alongside dynamic world rhythms and creative use of a variety of instruments. The duo performs with marimba, water drum, cajón, bodhrán, water gong, vibraharp, castanets, and more, immersing listeners in a sensory-rich musical landscape that engages both the heart and mind.

Maria and Henry Flurry’s performances are more than concerts — they are sensory experiences that leave audiences inspired and captivated. “That was just fabulous. I’ve never heard anything like it, and loved every minute,” raved one audience member. Sticks and Tones’ infectious stage presence and mastery of diverse musical traditions have garnered accolades across the United States in concert halls, schools, libraries, and with orchestras.

“Your music reaches into the hearts of your listeners,” says composer Mary Lou Prince. Since 2001, the Flurrys have shared their creativity and passion with audiences, combining their classical training with a deep love of world music to create dynamic, engaging performances for listeners of all ages.
