Sedona News – Red Earth Theatre returns to Apocetha with a reading of the comedy ‘Blithe Spirit’ by Noel Coward, adapted by Red Earth Theatre’s Terra Shelman. Socialite and novelist Charles Condomine invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant Madame Arcati to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his willful and temperamental first wife, Elvira, after the séance. Elvira makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles’s marriage to his second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost.

The cast includes Red Earth regulars Dave Belkiewitz (Charles), Audrey Young (Ruth), Ashlee Threlkeld (Elvira), Terra Shelman (Madame Arcati), Gerard Maguire (Dr. Bradman) and Mary Gladieux (Mrs. Bradman) with Malia Romero (Edith). Kate Hawkes directs. Presented at music stands with artful costuming, this promises to be a light-hearted evening, very much the ‘spirit’ of Sedona!

Red Earth last appeared at Apocetha with a reading of ‘Loplop and The Queen’ in August, and are planning a special reading of poetry and short stories for the Holiday season in December.

This month’s single performance of ‘Blithe Spirit ‘begins at 7.00pm on Thursday, October 17th in the intimate space of Apotheca Sedona (2301 W 89A Ste 104, next to Synergy Coffee Shop). Enjoy a coffee, shop a little in Apotheca before the doors open at 6.30. There will be a short intermission. Seating is limited.

    Tickets: $17 online at http://www.cur8.com
    $20 at the door
