    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

Amaya Gayle GregoryFor years the spiritual left, as well as the fundamentalist right, have been predicting a mass awakening, a shift in consciousness, movement from the horrors of this world that will usher in a more user-friendly realm.

Some see that as happening with the return of their particular hero. It’s interesting to note that depending on the religion, the one awaited is different, and even though each religion has one, triumphant return is a key part of the faith.

In all cases this rescue is predicated on an outward appearance, on the external world changing to fit a particular belief, to fix the flaw, to correct what is wrong. It assumes a world out of balance, a need to rectify and repair, and an appointed superstar. It’s the ultimate hero’s journey boosted to the nth power.

Whether it’s Jesus and the Mahdi as the Muslims believe, Jesus as the Son of God popping in to save the world, the future Messiah of the Jews, the Buddha Maitreya, or the Tenth Avatar at the end of the Kali Yuga, or ascension to the 5th dimension, all seem to be awaiting the one who will redeem humanity, or at least the part of humanity that believes correctly.

I find that absolutely fascinating … and not surprising. As a world, we look outward, rarely within.

Those who have gone beyond conventional thought, who have seen through the illusion … which includes most of the Awaited Ones … knew this, but few heard their words. Contented to look outside of themselves, they were caught in anticipation of the return, unable to consider what they pointed to, let alone to let the meaning of the words unravel within.

Only the mystics dared parse what was meant from the words passed down throughout the years, often resulting in less than pleasant outcomes. This world tends to shut down voices that don’t conform, calling them out as crazy, naming them terrorist, anarchists, and troublemakers, not knowing the honor they bestow by naming them true disciples of authenticity, of infinite aliveness.

To consider the reality that no one is coming is too much for most to bear, a crushing weight, a splintering of hope … the end of the world of projection, leaving nothing but this as it is, this world and its pain and sorrow, its death and horror.

To most, it would crack the egg into a gazillion unredeemable pieces, and take with it the will to continue, so the myths of redemption are important, are necessary even, even though they pervert the possibility of something far greater. Perhaps this go around the myth is enough. Maybe it is an upgrade from what came before.

For others, those who are ready this life, seeing there is no knight on a white horse galloping your way, blows apart the ground on which you stand … and that is not a bad thing. Seeing through the maze of reality to the actuality, seeing into what you take for real, literally leaves nowhere to stand, no one standing, and no desire to place any stake in any sandpit in any desert.

You don’t need a savior. That’s part of the illusive, elusive dreamworld, the world that religions feel compelled to redeem. It’s as good a dream as any, but still a dream.

See what this is before you await your ascension, before you hope for enlightenment, before you sit under the Bodhi tree and anticipate Maitreya’s return. See what this is and then play it out, play your role … the play is all … freed from the tug-o-war of belief in the play.

    Much love, my friends.

There is no appropriate bio for Amaya Gayle. She doesn’t exist other than as an expression of Consciousness Itself. Talking about her in biographical terms is a disservice to the truth and to anyone who might be led to believe in such nonsense. None of us exist, not in the way we think. Ideas spring into words. Words flow onto paper and yet no one writes them. They simply appear fully formed. Looking at her you would swear this is a lie. She’s there after all, but honestly, she’s not. Bios normally wax on about accomplishments and beliefs, happenings in time and space. She has never accomplished anything, has no beliefs and like you was never born and will never die. Engage with Amaya at your own risk.  That said with a giggle, check out Amaya’s new book – Actuality: infinity at play, available in paperback and e-book at Amazon.
