logo_verdevalleysanctuarySedona AZ (February 25, 2013) – Dust off your dancing shoes! The Verde Valley Sanctuary, a 28-bed shelter for victims of family violence and abuse, will host Dancing in the Moonlight on April 20 at 5 p.m. The evening will include drinks, a Mexican-themed dinner catered by Culinary Creations by Beth, live and silent auctions and dancing to the Latin rhythms of Cuban-American chanteuse Mercy. The fundraiser takes place outdoors at Sky Ranch Lodge on Airport Mesa. Proceeds benefit the Sanctuary’s shelter and community programs.

20120226__mercy“This is going to be an extraordinary evening,” says Barry Maketansky, president of the Sanctuary’s board of directors. “Mercy, who previously fronted La Cubanita’s Orchestra, is one of the most talented singers in northern Arizona, and no one will be able to stay off the dance floor when she takes the stage. This is her first performance in Sedona in 2013. We also have some incredible auction items that have been donated by generous local businesses that believe in our cause. Dancing in the Moonlight will be the social event of the spring.”

Tickets are on sale now. For further details or to purchase tickets, call the Sanctuary or visit www.verdevalleysanctuary.org. Tickets are also on sale at Twice Nice Thrift Store, located at 1225 W. SR 89A in West Sedona. This event is expected to sell out, so buy your tickets early!
