Verde Vallley News – MATFORCE, a leading coalition dedicated to empowering communities across Arizona to prevent and reduce substance use, is pleased to announce the election of five new members to its Board of Directors. According to Board Chair Sheila Polk, “These individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise that will be invaluable as we continue to advance our mission.”

    New Board Members:

    • Doug Dolan: Doug is the Chief Operating Officer for Recovery in the Pines, located in Prescott, which offers long-term services for men and women who struggle with substance abuse, addictive behaviors, and other mental health issues. Doug’s personal journey of recovery from substance abuse will bring valuable insight and empathy to the MATFORCE Board.
    • Lori Hunt: Lori is the Vice-Mayor for the Prescott Valley Town Council where she has served since 2019. She is a substitute teacher in the Humbolt Unified School District (HUSD) and has 30 years of experience in City and County government, specifically in economic development, community development and planning. She chairs the PV Illegal Fentanyl Working Group and is excited to bring her passion in her new role on the MATFORCE Board.
    • Mark Kille: Mark Kille is a licensed attorney in Arizona and Missouri who represents injury victims through his law firm, Mingus Mountain Law Group, PLLC. Mark has a significant history of community service, including service on various nonprofit boards, volunteering with the Volunteer Attorney Program, involvement with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and serving as a foster parent. Mark will be a valuable addition to the MATFORCE Board of Directors with his passion for helping youth, legal practice, and past nonprofit board experience in Yavapai County.
    • Lauren Lauder: Lauren is the Deputy CEO and Arizona Market President at Spectrum Healthcare, and has extensive experience in the healthcare sector, including roles such as COO of Copa Health, and CEO of The Guidance Center. Lauren’s active involvement in community service, such as chairing the Arizona Council of Human Service Providers and serving as the Past Board Chair of Flagstaff Shelter Services, highlights her commitment to making a positive impact beyond her professional responsibilities. Lauren’s capacity to drive positive change, promote community well-being, and unite organizational efforts for collective success will enhance the impact of MATFORCE statewide.
    • Marshal Corey Rowley: Corey was sworn in as Marshal for the Town of Camp Verde in October of 2018 and previously served as the police chief in Yakutak, Alaska. He and his wife Nicole conduct education classes for youth of all ages across the state. Marshal Rowley is very committed to the mission of MATFORCE and has been an active member of the Camp Verde Workgroup and the Verde Valley Steering Committee. He partnered with MATFORCE in creating the school truancy project and in implementing substance use prevention education in Camp Verde schools. Marshal Rowley has actively assisted the Yavapai Family Advocacy Center, whose mission is to reduce trauma to victims of abuse by providing a safe environment and a team approach to advocacy, investigation, and prosecution.

“We are thrilled to welcome these outstanding individuals to our Board of Directors,” said Merilee Fowler, Executive Director of MATFORCE. “Their diverse backgrounds and commitment to our mission will help us to achieve new heights and make a greater impact in our communities across Arizona.”

The new board members will join the existing board in guiding the strategic direction of MATFORCE, and ensuring the organization continues to fulfill its mission of reducing the negative impacts of substance abuse on communities across Arizona.
