You have been so much on my mind lately, especially this Father’s Day. I don’t know if there is a hereafter where you presently dwell or if it’s all a myth that there is something waiting when we pass

Regardless, time is everywhere all the time, all at once, and you could be reading this 25 years ago for all I know.

I’m not going to make this a thank you for everything you taught me or the dedication to the family you held close to your chest through the years we were growing up.

I want to instead tell you that I have reached a few milestones in my 70 years on this planet, and thanks to your guidance, I achieved them. You did well, Papi.

I have grown to become a caring and compassionate man. I am kind, giving, and aware of the importance of living life to the fullest.

I look upon my fellow human beings with love and patience.

I have learned to listen well and acknowledge the divinity of every person I encounter.

I see God . Inside, outside, here, there and everywhere.

I have learned to trust my heart and to maintain constant vigilance over my thoughts, drives, and ambitions.

I am generous and giving and always ready to help others achieve such vigilance.

    I treasure life, whether it’s a mosquito, a plant, or a person.

I am not afraid to speak the truth and know when to remain silent when truth does not matter.

I contribute to the good of the community.

I am brave and not afraid of fear.

I love my own son and helped him learn the lessons you taught me.

I have a granddaughter to make you a great-grandpa. She looks like you.

I question authority but remain respectful.

I continue playing music, writing songs, and performing, just like you did when you were here.

I continue training on the heavy bag and speed bag just like you taught me.

I am always writing something new and engaging my community via my cyber publication.

I have kept my childhood friends close, and we all remember you teaching us music and philosophy.

But most importantly, I love, more and more each day.

Thank you, Popi, for showing me how.

Great dedication to your father. I believe children are a direct reflection of their parents morals and way of life. Sounds like he did all the right things to instill a proper way of life for you.

It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
