    Denise Gibbs, Naturalist Featured at KSB Speaker Series

    Keep Sedona Beautiful will hold its next Preserving the Wonder Speaker Series event on Wednesday, May 15 at 5:00 pm via ZOOM. This month’s speaker is Denise Gibbs, Retired Interpretive Park Naturalist and Monarch butterfly expert. Her topic will be “For the Love of Monarchs:  Join the Push to Save a Beloved Butterfly”.  Please visit the KSB website, www.keepsedonabeautiful.org for details.

    Denise will share information on Monarch butterflies and will discuss their serious decline in numbers.  Learn the reasons why, and how to take steps to help them recover and thrive.

    Denise Gibbs is a retired 37-year interpretive park naturalist.  She has owned a native plant nursery specializing in native nectar and host plants for butterflies for 30 years.  She conducted a 20-year research project on the fall Monarch migration at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia.  For the past 16 years she has served as a Monarch conservation specialist for Monarch Watch.

    The Preserving the Wonder Speaker series is held on the third Wednesday of each month.
