Sedona News – The Sedona Arts Festival is pleased to invite artists to apply to exhibit their works at the 2024 Festival, taking place over the weekend of October 12-13 on the campus of Sedona Red Rock High School, 995 Upper Red Rock Loop Road, Sedona, Ariz. Now in its 33rd year, the Sedona Arts Festival is Sedona’s oldest and largest premier arts event and has become known for the quality of art on display and its first-class treatment of both artists and guests. With Sedona’s spectacular red rocks as a backdrop and glorious fall weather to complement the event, the Sedona Arts Festival is an intimate show featuring up to 120 fine artists from across the country. The application deadline for artists is May 17, with jury results announced June 1; the application fee is $35, and artists may submit up to two applications.

The Sedona Arts Festival showcases a diverse range of artistic mediums, including painting, sculpture, glasswork, and more. With live music, raffle prizes, an array of food options, and a beer and wine garden to round out the experience, the festival attracts an average of 3,500 attendees annually. For artists, benefits of participating include:

    • Extensive marketing and PR efforts
    • Reasonable show hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday)
    • Awards with cash prizes in all categories; the “Best of Show” winner receives a $250 award, as well as acceptance to and a complimentary booth for the next year’s show, while artists in each category receive a $125 award and are invited to participate in the next year’s show with their application fee waived.
    • Complimentary breakfast items, snacks, coffee and water, as well as a variety of food choices on site
    • Special restroom facilities for artists only
    • 24-hour security
    • Friendly and organized staff, as well as booth sitters and volunteers to assist artists

Artist applications are reviewed by a jury consisting of three art professionals, as well as a judge specific to jewelry submissions. Each juror is given guidelines for selection based on excellence in concept, quality, workmanship and aesthetics. Individual jury members assign points from 1-5 for each image presented; points are totaled, and artists with the highest total in each category are selected to exhibit.

In addition to artists, the Sedona Arts Festival is currently accepting applications from food trucks/vendors and Gourmet Row vendors. There will be 5-6 food vendors on site, with a variety of menu choices to reduce overlap. Gourmet Row, which is limited to 13 vendors and occupies its own area of the festival, features an array of locally produced items for kitchen, bath and more. Food and Gourmet Row vendors are invited to apply as non-artist vendors by the May 17 deadline.

The Sedona Arts Festival is a nonprofit entity that promotes awareness of the arts, supports artists and builds community in the greater Sedona area. To learn more about the festival or to submit an application as an artist or non-artist vendor, please visit https://www.zapplication.org/event-info.php?ID=12181.
