… ’twas a beautiful day to be alive and to be on the lake … as usual, the predators were catching more fish than the fishermen on the lake and the above photo was typical of the successes that were being racked up by wildlife. The Osprey had recently nailed a fish, dispensed with the head and was working his way down the fish and had just ripped off a bite and was downing it. Shot with the new 200-800 lens at 800mm from a distance in excess of 100′ … f/9.0 and 1/2000th of a second. We came back a few hours later and he had another fish. Check the lens out at District Camera … where I buy all my gear … ask for Eldar or Jack Peralta.

The owl is still on the nest and as the water level rises the angle to shoot her decreases and you get a more level looking right at you perspective … by the middle of May, it is projected to be about 20′ higher than at present and the kids should be fledging.

Into the weekend … friends, meals and times of joy … smiles, keep breathing and I’ll be back Monday morning.

    Smiles,

    Ted

A bird flies through the sky, and I fly with it. I am in
each pearl of moisture sparkling in the sun. I lie lazy
on the clouds. And I acknowledge my kinship with
    each winged thing.

I see all as one, and nothing repels me, as this new
day climbs noiselessly out of the valley of night.

Peace lies over the world and over the world of my
    soul.

    Beatles Tribute at Blazin’ M

I can honestly say, having grown up in the Bronx in the 60s, that if it had not been for the Beatles I most likely would have grown up to be a criminal or been killed in a violent gang war.
