.. in the photo above a great blue heron has spotted a fish in the water that had been injured in a prior attack by another Great blue heron … a feeding frenzy was in progress with a couple of dozen great blues attacking a school of fish that was near the surface in the bay. He is executing kind of a pivot in mid-air and in the photo below he is going in for the kill with his right foot dragging in the water and next his body enters the water just below where his right wing is and yes, he got the fish!
A terrific day as I have got the first iteration of my new presentation done and the editing begins tomorrow … lots of new images in it and the main problem was selection of the images and choosing the best of the images where there were several what I consider terrific images that could have gone in there … a better problem than where is an image good enough to put in there 🙂
Thursday I will be taking most of the photos off my walls at home to bring into the Hozho Gallery to hang on the walls in the gallery for the month of September … Meet the Artist First Friday is this Friday night and I hope you will be able to make it into the gallery for the event … beverages and food will be served.
This is my first show in a gallery in many years … look forward to seeing you and they are among my favorite photographs … straight off my walls!
Check your mailbox and/or your local coffee shop as the September issue of Sedona Monthly is out and what a fantastic job they did with the feature article on the San Francisco Volcanic Field that Wayne Ranney, and I collaborated on … enjoy it!
Time to wrap what has been another beautiful day … a few hours rest and then back into a fresh day for me … no mess ups yet 🙂 May joy be seen on your face and in your bearing today … keep breathing, smile and be kind.

Though I know I shall sometime no more open
my eyes to the night or day,
I am one who looks at the stars when unchained from
the work-bench at nightfall.
They are a sign that I am not ephemeral, not you, nor
you, whoever you are.
The dawn comes and the dark and the sign sparkling
in the brooding night forever and forever.
