    … the beauty of nature brought into our homes and reminders of life beyond ours that can bring a gentle peace into our lives. I enjoy just staring at and studying flowers and tulips are among my favorites.

    The tulips in both of these photographs are from Filoli Gardens in Woodside, California. Click on the link and learn more about this fantastical place. After my presentation to the Padre Trails Camera Club in Pebble Beach, California on May 3rd, I plan on spending more time shooting in these beautiful gardens before returning home. If you are in the Monterey area and would like to attend the presentation there, check the website for particulars … they are open to visitors.

    Time to wrap the day and into the weekend for me … focus on the things that bring peace into your life … keep breathing, smile and choose to live in joy … each of us gets to choose how we perceive the daily events that we are part of … joy is an underestimated state of mind and always available to us … we just have to choose it.

    And from Katie and me to you, Pax Vobiscum (Peace be with you)

    Ted

    Whatever else you do or forebear,
    impose upon yourself the task of happiness;
    and now and then abandon yourself
    to the joy of laughter.
