Ms. Ruiz’s goal is to bridge the gap between past and present by showcasing beautiful, hopeful and calming photography. Her work is a result of a health issue she had as a child which resulted in flat lining during surgery. During her recovery process, she surrounded herself with images and art books in an attempt to make sense of what she encountered. The experiences and dreams she had as a child are expressed in her images.
