    Windows to the Soul

That woman, the one who’s not crying, the daughter of your friend who just died, you never really know the story, the reasons why, not even the reason behind the reasons, her life’s story that blocks her tears, the hurt that’s bottled up so tight she mustn’t let it out, the pain that must be contained for were she to let the tears start, the flood might wipe out the world.

That boy, the one who looks so strong, the kid standing on the sideline oozing arrogance, you never really know what’s going on inside, the reasons he puts on that tough face, why he’s so quick to anger, what makes him seem to swagger may not be conceit at all, but fear that his secrets aren’t safe. You never really know what goes on when he leaves the crowds behind, if he hides in his room when his dad comes home, not sure whether the good dad or the bad will walk in the door.

That woman, the staggeringly beautiful one who looks like she has it all together, who appears to be the winner of life’s lottery, you never know if she has knots in her belly, or wears out the carpet at night with her inability to sleep. You don’t see the tears she cries when no one’s watching, how lost and lonely she might be, how tired she is of hiding, of worrying people will see she’s a fraud. There really is no way to know.

That man, the one who looks like he can’t be bothered, who seems to set himself apart from life, that one, yeah, the one you’d swear just had a tear in his eye, you never know what’s going on, how he thinks of dying, wishing it would come, how he’s fed up to here with TV dinners for one, how mad he is that his life didn’t turn out the way he hoped, that his dreams dried up, that he never found someone who would hang around long enough to really get to know him and love him as he is. So much anger hiding beneath his skin, and even now, despite it all, he has so much to share, but no one knows. How could they? He was too afraid to allow people in, too angry that no one showed up.

There is no way to know what’s churning inside another. We hardly look, rarely notice the world outside of our own skin and when we do, we can’t help but see it through our eyes, our experience of ourselves. We can never truly know, because what we see is ourself, not another.

So many of us want a better world, a kinder, more caring place for our children, our grandchildren. Until we step past the barriers and genuinely get to know each other, we will continue to live in a self-created world, driven by our own internal shenanigans. We can make a better world, but not alone, and if we don’t do it, it won’t happen. Realizing there’s no way to know who anyone is, and that we are more alike than we think, opens up possibilities for change that might just surprise you.

It doesn’t take much to initiate the shift. Just a smile, a sweet hello, changes the world one person at a time. Just this one breath is really all we have. There’s no promise of tomorrow, but we do have right now, so as the old adage goes … there’s no time like the present.

There’s really is no way to know even if you risk reaching out, even once you dare to touch another’s heart, if only with your beautiful eyes. There’s a reason it’s said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Let the lovelight shine through yours and maybe we can get to know one another, if only a tiny bit better.

There is no appropriate bio for Amaya Gayle. She doesn’t exist other than as an expression of Consciousness Itself. Talking about her in biographical terms is a disservice to the truth and to anyone who might be led to believe in such nonsense. None of us exist, not in the way we think. Ideas spring into words. Words flow onto paper and yet no one writes them. They simply appear fully formed. Looking at her you would swear this is a lie. She’s there after all, but honestly, she’s not. Bios normally wax on about accomplishments and beliefs, happenings in time and space. She has never accomplished anything, has no beliefs and like you was never born and will never die. Engage with Amaya at your own risk.

That said with a giggle, check out Amaya’s new book – Actuality: infinity at play available in paperback and e-book at Amazon.
