    Sunset Crater Volcano and Walnut Canyon National Monuments Announce Summer Hours Beginning Friday, May 23, 2014

    logo_nationalparkserviceFlagstaff AZ (April 25, 2014) – Kayci Cook Collins, Superintendent of the Flagstaff National Monuments – Sunset Crater Volcano and Walnut Canyon National Monument announces that visitor center hours will shift to summer hours starting Friday, May 23, 2014. 

    From May 23, 2014 to November 1, 2014, the monuments will be open from 8 am to 5 pm, seven days a week.  Monument information and exhibits will be available during these hours.  Walnut Canyon Island trail closes to at 4 pm and the Rim Trail closes at 4:30 pm.   

    Sedona Gift Shop

    Walnut Canyon National Monument is located 7.5 miles east of downtown Flagstaff via I-40 and can be reached at (928)526-3367 and on the web at www.nps.gov/waca.  Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument is located 12 miles north of Flagstaff via Hwy 89 and can be reached at (928)526-0502 and www.nps.gov/sucr. 

    The entrance fee is $5.00/person for visitors 16 and over.  America the Beautiful Passes are honored and sold.
