Sedona AZ (June 16, 2013) – Kathy McIntosh, a freelance editor of fiction and business books, will conduct a special self-editing workshop for writers at The Well Red Coyote bookstore on Saturday, June 22 at 2:00 pm.
Just as painting can take more than one coat, even using the best of materials, our writing generally needs going over a few times before it’s ready for viewing. In this workshop, Idaho author, Kathy McIntosh, author of Mustard’s Last Stand, will review three necessary phases of self-editing fiction. In the first pass, we check for the essential elements of each scene. The second pass is a good time to check grammar and tighten our words. Next comes the polishing phase. She will discuss all three in depth. Kathy invites you to bring some of your work for feedback.
McIntosh writes a column on words and business writing for the Idaho Statesman and speaks often on making words work. She was a co-founder of the popular mystery lovers’ conference, Murder in the Grove. She is a member of Sisters in Crime and the Idaho Writers Guild.
