Sedona, AZ — Wings and Wheels returns to the Sedona Airport on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Jamie Beers, Sedona Base Manager for Guidance Air, the longtime scenic helicopter tour company said, “Guidance Air has taken part in Airport Day for years and we could not be more excited to be this year’s Presenting sponsor.  We hope to have a great crowd this year and a lot of first-time helicopter flyers enjoying the incredible views that Sedona offers.”

An array of aircraft are scheduled for this year’s event.  From World War II-era warbirds from the Planes of Fame Air Museum to modern airplanes, helicopters, and gyrocopters.  In addition to all the static display aircraft the Sedona Car Club will host some of the most interesting automobiles in the area.  In addition to the aircraft and classic cars, there will be raffles of helicopter, balloon, and airplane flights, family entertainment, food vendors, and crafters.

This year’s event directly benefits the Sedona Community Food Bank.  A donation of one non-perishable food item per person at the gate is the recommended donation.  There will also be a QR code available so that visitors can make a direct monetary contribution to the food bank.  “Let’s all get involved in fighting hunger in our community,” said Executive Director of the Sedona Community Food Bank, Cathleen Healy-Baiza.

Airport General Manager Ed Rose said, “We are blessed with our terrific sponsors without which we would be hard-pressed to operate this community event.”  Thank you to Guidance Air, Avfuel, Red Rock Balloon Adventures, Sedona Car Rentals, Sky Ranch Lodge, and a host of other sponsors who bring this event to the public.  Please consult the airport website for more information regarding raffles, parking, and other attractions and please join us high above town at America’s Most Scenic Airport for a day of fun, aviation, classic cars, beautiful views, and incredible give-aways.

It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
