    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

Amaya Gayle GregoryWhy do we call it walking the dog? It is such a strange phrase.  We’re both walking, or at least that is how it appears, or does it? Like everything, I guess it all depends on the point of view.

When the focus is on the me, taking the dog for a walk, it seems like I am taking a walk so that the dog — sweet Miss Sophia — gets a walk too. That’s the fairly common version of dog walking.

When the focus is on the dog, it doesn’t even seem like I’m part of it, like I’m just a portal of perception, watching the dog walk and play. That’s a fun, truly enjoyable experience. I’m not really there. It’s like watching a movie in 3D.

When there is no focus … now that’s the interesting one … life moves through awareness, the ground moves, the dog moves, trees move, life passes through. I am the unmoving awareness in which it appears and repositions itself.

Attending to sensations, t feel the movement in what seems to be a rhythmic motion near what I previously labeled the ground. I can perceive activity on both sides of what seems to be the center of awareness. If I didn’t ‘know’ that was feet walking and hands moving, they would simply be sensations.

It’s interesting how effortless the non-focused way of walking is, especially so when compared to the ‘me ‘focus. There is no up and down, no steep or rough, no hard work or out of breath. There is simply movement appearing to occur in awareness, life literally passing me by.

When it is taken a step further, a step few explore, there is only awareness, not awareness of, or even movement. There is no way to separate awareness from movement. Please don’t believe me. Try to see if you can.

Walking the dog. What a wondrous thing experience is, any experience, every experience.  Each one is a way shower offering the possibility of stepping through the never constructed door into the unknown.

Normally we walk the dog and miss the brilliant show. Normal is not required. Life both is and isn’t normal. Normal … what a word.

Next time I’ll take a longer vid. This one is such a tease … kind of like life, eh?

There is no appropriate bio for Amaya Gayle. She doesn’t exist other than as an expression of Consciousness Itself. Talking about her in biographical terms is a disservice to the truth and to anyone who might be led to believe in such nonsense. None of us exist, not in the way we think. Ideas spring into words. Words flow onto paper and yet no one writes them. They simply appear fully formed. Looking at her you would swear this is a lie. She’s there after all, but honestly, she’s not. Bios normally wax on about accomplishments and beliefs, happenings in time and space. She has never accomplished anything, has no beliefs and like you was never born and will never die. Engage with Amaya at your own risk.  That said with a giggle, check out Amaya’s new book – Actuality: infinity at play, available in paperback and e-book at Amazon.

If you recently moved to Sedona, you may notice that every four years, residents vote on something called Home Rule. The July 21 vote is simply about who controls Sedona’s city budget.

Home Rule allows the city government, Staff with limitations, and Council to spend any money they have on any project they want without regard to voter input.
