    ‘Two-fer Tuesday’ Once Again Helps Feed the Hungry

    Sedona News: The “Two Fer Tuesday’s” support of the “Fill the Need” Food Bank philanthropic effort, turned out to be another big success. 

    Contributors, volunteers and donors filled up truck bed, the truck’s back seats and supplies are still coming in this week to be delivered to the Food Bank! 

    “Ephesians 3:20; we are very blessed by our great donors and volunteers who are called to help others,” said organizer Andrea Kadar of the community’s expression of kindness to those in need.

    She conveyed a special thanks to Efren Santa Cruz, Pastor Fred Mast and Jenny Mast, the generous donors at Sedona United Methodist Church,Bill and Debbie Johnson, John and Ann Steinbrunner, Bruce Bramblett, Sherrie Peterson, Kathy Roth, Mike and Christine Schroeder, Rick and Carol Gandolfo, Sharleen Henderson, Chan Smith, Tom and Cara Kretz, Jon and Tish Denney -and- the great girls at the “Fill the Need” Food Bank (Kathy Wozniak and Soo Morehouse) who met us at the Food Bank front to receive and organize the donated supplies.

    “We appreciate ALL of our donors; there are too many to mention here,” said Kadar. “Thank you for feeding people, and their pets, who live in our own community. Your kind acts of generosity are helping your neighbors more than you realize. Great work! May all of you be greatly blessed for caring for the “least of these our brothers”. It is our highest calling and YOU ANSWERED. God bless you all.”

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
