… nearly every year I get to send out a photo similar to this … nature’s way of expressing what she sees happening to the average person … governments way of spoiling the beauty of the rebirth that is Spring. Anyhow, I look forward to the opportunity of sending photos like this out. So, put it in the mail or file electronically … what’s left is yours until next year … second installment of property taxes come in two weeks, sales and gasoline taxes daily, taxes on communications monthly, plus, plus, plus.

A lot of gem work done today as I continue the sorting and organization of the collection … not my strong suit, but oh so necessary. Off to Sunset Crater in the morning and more shooting of the enchanted wood. Time with friends and time with One as she does her hunts … and when the day is nearing its end, some quiet time reflecting on the beauty of life and our tiny little planet … where is forever … and forever after that … or is it all now in the present?

Have a beautiful day … share a smile with those you meet and greet …

…I yield myself to the thousand enchantments of sky and field and wood,
and play again like a child on the soft green of the earth.
And as the God of the universe has made thee to bloom in tenderness,
so also may my heart be made to bloom again.

The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols
    By Tommy Acosta
Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
