… after a day like today how can I have anything but a wide grin on my face? Russ and Norman arrived at Sedona Airport about 10AM; Russ in his Diamond motorglider and Norman in his Stemme S-6 with the idea of curing my affliction caused by too much time on the planet surface. Two empty seats to fill … I jumped in the Stemme with Norman and a friend who was up at the field climbed in with Russ. We took off and Norman offered me the controls and for the next hour and a half it was all over the Colorado Plateau before returning to Sedona and back home for a barbeque at my home, back to the airport and about an hour wait for weather to clear at Payson so they could return.

The first shot I took from E of Roden Crater looking to the WNW; this is the art project of James Turrell. The plateau is a beautiful contrast of color thanks to all the rain we have had this year. I think he must have bought a section of land and you can see the color shift at his property lines. The second photo is a shot I took of Russ and Norman as they took off this evening for the return trip to Payson.

It was a great day and time for a wrap … back to the airport in the morning. Methinks it will be a good day … hoping for the same in your day.

    Cheers
