… I really like the joy of making a big splash … cannon balls when jumping into a pool or pond … belly flops in ill executed dives and the beauty of large waterfowl splashing down in the water as they land after a flight. I took this shot last month at Watson Lake when a Cormorant splashed in after a short flight from his perch on a granite boulder in the lake. Fun stuff!

A busy day, work and collaboration on an article about the San Francisco Volcanic Field that Bob and I are doing … lots of good photos and technical and historical detail.

Have to order more calendars as a lot were sold today, thank you :+) The photos can all be framed as they are on 100 lb gloss card stock and after pulling out of the binding you have 12 8.5” x 11” photos at a cost of just over two bucks apiece. Compare that with the $20.00 plus if buying photo art prints … worth considering … a year with the calendar and then 12 frameable photos. So go ahead and order some of them and they make great gifts too. http://tedgrussing.com orhttp://tedandcorky.com

Time to put a wrap on the day as a new one is already well underway … have a beautiful day today and share a smile with those you meet and greet.

The Max story tomorrow … sorry. So a new quote I haven’t used before, tonight.

My cell phone is temporarily kaput! No texting or cell calls for a couple of days

    Cheers

O sweet content! Where is they mild abode
Where I may dwell in endless peace?
    Show me the much-sought road
    And give the lease.

The answer came, “Then cease to vainly roam
In search of me, for though wilt find
    My quiet hidden home
    Within thy mind.”

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
