… we start the week with shots taken on the water. Wednesday we’ll do shots relating to tree branches and Friday we return to the air with some magnificent aerial photography. Not often I plan a week out, but it seems like a good idea once in a while.
The shot above is of one of the Black Crowned Night Herons after he made an effort to grab a fish near the surface of the water … he made the effort, missed and he is just ready to rotate back into flight in roughly half a second having achieved Vr, Velocity for rotation. I love the long, elegant feather that streams from his head … it is known as a filoplume. The heron is rather stocky standing about two feet tall and a wingspan of about three feet.
Below we have a Blue Damsel that appears to the captain of the good ship CV-Leaf. Shooting insects is a real challenge, especially when they are in flight. Anyhow, I do like this little guy as he sets sail across the pond!
A wonderful week coming up … live it and smile … you are here!
With joy,
Ted
So each one to his wish, and as for me,
I sit tonight and wait
To find the answers to my soul in me,
And in the beauty of the sky and sea.
