… with the arrival of this Sage Thrasher dropping in for a landing one of the smaller Blue Birds decided to cut and run leaving room for the Thrasher to come in for a landing. There were many more birds that were at the pond the days I was shooting the Blue Birds, including Robins, the Sage Thrashers, House Finch, White Crowned Sparrows, Cardinals and many more. I spent most of the day completing the task of going through the more than 6,000 images I shot and have just over 900 left. One more run through to get the number down to less than 500 and that is going to be fairly difficult because a lot of otherwise very good images will hit the bit bucket. Anyhow, it was worth taking all the shots, if not for the images, for the pleasure of hearing the shutter clacking at 12 frames per second.

One, did a lot of hustling in and out of the house this afternoon depending on how strong the wind gusts were … think some of the gusts hit 30+ kts, but it really felt great being outside. I love the wild weather and the sounds of the wind in the trees and on my face … remember a few times when I was a kid, going out a second story window and sitting on the roof during major thunderstorms … there is absolutely nothing like experiencing nature and its power … absolutely awesome. Also very happy to be human and enjoying the benefits of all that has gone before and not dependent on the crude shelters such as those at Montezuma’s Well for my creature comforts, or my favorite creatures who rely on natural occurring caves and other forms of shelter … and we have Bashas :+)

Thursday is already here … this is the last photo for the week as I relish a few days to try and catch up on emails … never will happen, but I do get close once in a while. Have a beautiful day and weekend. Keep breathing, smiling and sharing the joy you find in life … soon enough it is over, so make each day you are granted the best one you can. Back Monday morning … at least that is the plan.

    Smiling,

    Ted

Though changed as are my songs from youth,
A voice within my heart still sings,
Live thou in tenderness and truth,
And love mankind instead of things.

    The Bloody Machine
    By Tommy Acosta
What is a life anyway? A single “life?” Is it nothing more than a collection of emotions and thoughts, reverberating pain and pleasure, hopes, dreams and fear? Are we merely meat; flesh and blood creations encapsulating what we believe is a soul? Or is a single life the microcosm and macrocosm of human life on earth, each one of us a unique representation of who we believe we are and the whole of humanity at once? We are born. We grow old. We die. Everything we experience is but a dream between those two points. Or are we manifestations of a Divine Creator, every one of us complete in the image that we were made? So, we are told.
