… Just can’t get back into straight photography right now and realized that I had overlooked some shots that were previously ignored. I sometimes wonder where my little feline friend goes when I scour the house looking for her so that I am comfortable leaving the house. You probably know the feeling … you check every room, under all the furniture, hiding places in closets and elsewhere and you just can’t find her! After reviewing this photograph I now understand … she wasn’t here, but flying right seat in a Phenom 100 for a law firm in Oklahoma … I mean there she is gazing down runway 21 and keeping the nose wheel right on centerline … I would expect no less from her. Not sure where she is parking her earnings, but perhaps time for her to chip in for her own food … she loves salmon and that is all she will eat!

Anyhow it is fun to mess around with reality once in a while and two of my favorite subjects are forever blended in this shot.

It is July in Arizona … it is hot! Surface temperature was in the mid 80’s when I took off this morning … mid 90’s when I landed. I did find cool at 12,500’ where it was 65F.  What goes up must come down though … killed the engine and had a 22 minute sled ride back to Sedona. Mostly I land engine off and today was no exception … more natural that way.

Have a beautiful day … my plan is to enjoy the great indoors and do some gem cutting. I’ll take a photo of one I finish tomorrow and send it out tomorrow evening.

    Keep breathing … keep smiling!

For was this right that I should eat and live by that another through his toil had earned?
But one good hope then fed my hungry soul:
That I should live by what my hands could do.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
