… one of the joys in bird photography are the shots of them in flight and viewing all the beautiful positions their bodies and wings take whilst in flight.
Above is a Great Blue Heron that has just leapt into flight from a buoy in Lake Pleasant as we passed by the buoy … the detail in the neck feathers is amazing as is the detail in the legs and feet …
Below is a photo of a Say’s Phoebe also going into flight … check them out! The GBH takes fish and the Phoebe takes insects … all part of the grand plan.
Into the weekend and the plan is to be back Monday morning and hopefully out of our late winter weather. Smile, be kind and keep breathing, a recipe for a joyful life.
With joy,
Ted
One morn I rose and looked upon the world.
“Have I been blind until this hour?” I said.
O’er every trembling leaf the sun had spread,
And was like golden tapestry unfurled;
And as the moments passed more light was hurled
Upon the drinking earth athirst for light;
And I, beholding all this wondrous sight,
Cried out aloud, “O God, I love Thy world!”
And since that waking, often I drink deep
The joy of dawn, and peace abides with me;
And though I know that I again shall see
Dark fear with withered hand approach my sleep,
More sure am I when lonely night shall flee,
At dawn the sun will bring good cheer to me.
