… we had a lot of moisture and the colors in the inner basin were amazing … I took thousands of photos and found it difficult to delete a lot of them, but there comes a time when the need to delete arrives and so this evening I began deleting a planned 3,000 of these photos from September and October 2016 and leave me with about 1500 images. The difficulty is that they are all of this quality or higher, but many are near duplicates so that makes it a little easier … 600+ hit the bit buckettonight.

The inner basin is above Lockett Meadow and Agassiz and Humphreys Peaks are buried in the clouds. It is a beautiful place to be when the colors are like this … then there are the years like this where there is little moisture and little color and perhaps I took a few dozen shots total.
We’re into the weekend and I’ll be back with my Christmas special Monday/Christmas Day.
Enjoy the day, the beauty of the season and share your joy.
Merry Christmas
Ted
