… time to relive winter flights over Northern Arizona … one of my favorite things to do! In the photo above I was over Beaver Head Flat Rd at about 7200′ msl and looking north over the intervening hills, across the Village of Oak Creek where I live … above and to the left a bit you can see Airport Mesa and West Sedona. On the horizon from the left is Kendrick Peak, The San Francisco Peaks and Mt. Elden!

The lower photo is of the Snow Bowl area on the west side of the San Francisco Peaks; you can see skiers on the near run … the mountain and all the trees were covered in hoars frost turning the mountain into a magical winter wonderland with the ice crystals picking up the sunlight and sparkling.

For those who are interested in such things, the Martin JRM Philippine Mars sea plane landed on Lake Pleasant yesterday afternoon. This is its last flight as it floats at anchor awaiting recovery from the water and disassembly for transport to the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, AZ. It is moored near the South Boat Ramp. I’m hoping to get some photos of it before they haul it up on land.

Hump day … on the down slide for the week. Have a beautiful day, keep breathing and be kind … share a smile with someone today, it feels good!

    Cheers,

    Ted

Love men and truth, and poverty most like
Will dine with you, but peace will feed your soul.
Let selfishness guide all your thoughts and acts,
And in old age your storehouse may be full
Of grain and goods; for truth and love of men
Will garner only peace and inward joy.
Some fathers would speak otherwise to sons
Held dear; and yet I’ve ke[t my faith and shown
To you my boy, the only world I know.
Remember this: whichever course you choose,
You’ll sometimes turn about and walk awhile
The other way, for none of human kind
Is all of good or all of evil made.

It Takes a Lifetime and Sometimes Even More

    By Amaya  Gayle

Sedona, AZ — It takes a lifetime (perhaps lifetimes) of stretching and expanding, ripping and tearing, just to move through one’s predispositions, to meet one’s inbred resistance and evolve to the grace of simple tolerance. During this precious part of the journey, it feels like you are taking the steps, are choosing right, left or straight ahead, that you are in the game.
