… in flight … beauty that has intrigued mankind since forever … we watch the beauty of birds of all kinds as they wend their way through unseen and unmarked highways in the sky. The photo above is an Osprey that has just launched from his perch on a tree in Lake Pleasant and is on his way to do some grocery shopping … nothing like fresh fish for dinner!

And then there is the view … what does it look like to see what they do and without the aid of devices we make we would never experience? Perhaps this view of Rogers Lake and the San Francisco Peaks will give you an idea … the lake used to be a full time lake in the 1940’s and 50’s and had many full time yachts on it. Regardless, it is still a beautiful sight and one I was privileged on numerous occasions to view. Still there and still the same as change occurs in geologic time …

Below is a photo of an adult Bald Eagle navigating through the trees in Oak Creek Canyon; he launched from the tree limb directly behind his talons and is on his way … he was planning on a rainbow trout meal from Rainbow Trout Farms, but he didn’t want photo evidence that could be used against him in court, so he resolved to see me gone and left.

Rainbow Trout Farm is on Facebook and is open during the winter too; all of their fish are grown from eggs on the premises … all the fish know is pure spring water … the same spring water you will find in Purely Sedona water. The water is available on Pink Dot, Amazon and Whole Foods websites. Check them out and then go get some some trout there: The Ospreys, Eagles and Hawks all give the place a 5 star review on Yelp.

Down to Lake Pleasant in the morning … Wednesday too. Have a beautiful day, keep breathing and share a smile or three during the day.

    Cheers,

    Ted

O sweet content! Where is thy mild abode
Where I may dwell in endless peace?
Show me the much sought road
    And give the lease.

The answer came, “Then cease to vainly roam
In search of me, for thou wilt find
    My quiet, hidden home
    Within thy mind.”

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
