… the planet we call home is a work of art, always a work in progress and never finished … how it appears today is not how it looked yesterday nor how it will appear tomorrow … change is the norm … don’t you wonder how it looked before what we now call the Colorado River utilizing the power of erosion and shifting of plates created the Grand Canyon? For whatever reason, mankind wants to maintain the status quo … change is anathema to our minds.

We try to manage forests and restore them to what we think they should be … we create dams to prevent erosion and regulate the flow of water … would we have even permitted the Grand Canyon to form had we been here during the formative years? Probably not, but eventually the natural progression has its way and we are stunned and shocked by what happens … it must be our fault … our leaders and thinkers ascribe the fault to the way we live and decide to control what we can and cannot do because OMG, things are changing and we cannot allow that to happen. Oh well, eventually the forces of nature prevail, and we watch as nature imposes the natural order on the planet and the life forms present thereon.

You are looking at tens of thousands of years of work as the planet evolves … a few roads permit us to get into this beautiful area and in the lower right corner you can see a couple of vehicles amidst the wilderness. I love this perspective and it changes hour by hour throughout the day and it is never the same from one day to the next.

Allow life to happen … enjoy today and love those with whom you share the planet … and smile, you are here today.

    Cheers

Though changed as are my songs from youth,
A voice within my heart still sings,
“Live thou in tenderness and truth,
And love mankind instead of things”.

    The Bloody Machine
    By Tommy Acosta
What is a life anyway? A single “life?” Is it nothing more than a collection of emotions and thoughts, reverberating pain and pleasure, hopes, dreams and fear? Are we merely meat; flesh and blood creations encapsulating what we believe is a soul? Or is a single life the microcosm and macrocosm of human life on earth, each one of us a unique representation of who we believe we are and the whole of humanity at once? We are born. We grow old. We die. Everything we experience is but a dream between those two points. Or are we manifestations of a Divine Creator, every one of us complete in the image that we were made? So, we are told.
