… I was going through several folders tonight, reviewing, judging and deleting photos as I went and then I came on a folder of “Innovator Spuria Iris” that we have growing in our yard thanks to friends, Allan and Marge, who planted them for Corky during the summer of 2013. They have bloomed brilliantly many years and I have a feeling that this will be a good year for them … plans are to feed them this year too. The website for the Spuria Iris is: https://spuriairissociety.org/

A very long time ago I did charcoal drawings and it was easy to depart from reality and create something new and exciting … today I have fun using the tools available to me in Photoshop to take the same liberties with my photos … photography is an art not just of a straight photograph, but a creation through the lens, eye and mind of the artist … the freedom is unlimited and the results can be amazing … reality can be over rated sometimes.

The snow on the ground is beautiful and it is cold … for here. Plans to shoot some snow scenes tomorrow and share one of them tomorrow night.

Have a beautiful day and keep your mind open for beauty and be willing to visualize it and play with the image in your mind. Keep breathing, keep smiling … life is great … we get to choose how we perceive it.

    Cheers,

    Ted

Time was when men held saner counsel here.
Will that time come again? Shall we behold
From this grim madness some new love unfold?
We pray for gentler times, when men shall cease
His brother man to bully or to fear.
Great God, among ourselves let us have peace?

    From the poem “Crisis”

    The Bloody Machine
    By Tommy Acosta
What is a life anyway? A single “life?” Is it nothing more than a collection of emotions and thoughts, reverberating pain and pleasure, hopes, dreams and fear? Are we merely meat; flesh and blood creations encapsulating what we believe is a soul? Or is a single life the microcosm and macrocosm of human life on earth, each one of us a unique representation of who we believe we are and the whole of humanity at once? We are born. We grow old. We die. Everything we experience is but a dream between those two points. Or are we manifestations of a Divine Creator, every one of us complete in the image that we were made? So, we are told.
