    … can’t help but anticipate and look forward to the coolness that will be coming to the area in just a couple of months … heat has never been something I enjoy unless basking in airconditioned comfort … but it is Arizona and, in the summer, we do get heat. The population of Phoenix in 1950 was only 106,818 and the 99th most populace city in the USA … today the population is more than 1,640,000 and the 5th most populace city in the USA and the most populace state capital in the USA … the early 1950’s was when something called air-conditioning became widely affordable and became a common item in the workplace and at home!

    The photo above was taken from east of the Inner Basin of the San Francisco Peaks at an altitude of 9,700′ Lockett Meadow is off the photo on the lower right side of the image. The sky had about 80% cloud cover and some wonderful blue holes that enabled me to get up there and go down and take photos of all the beauty of snow, color and mountains.

    Below is a photo of a White Pelican taking off from Lake Pleasant and as you can see they use both feet simultaneously to propel themselves down the watery runway as they take off … point of reference, his wingspan is about NINE feet … an amazing flying machine!

    Into a new week … lots of plans and methinks a wonderful week to be lived, enjoyed and shared! Smile, keep breathing and enjoy the day you are in … it is all we ever have.

    Cheers,

    Ted

    I bring but this one common thought
    My life has wrought;
    That from the dregs of drear despair
    Still everywhere
    There is a joy I yet may sip—
    ‘Tis comradeship
    With all mankind, the high and low
    I know.
