… and some people and some critters just do not want to have their pictures taken … perhaps one who has promised to allow critters access to a wetlands and reneged on the promise … the bird conspiring with others to dive bomb an office building and coat it with white … or is he concealing a camera of his own underneath his wing and activating it for an overflight of an area where workers are cutting the reeds necessary for ducks during the breeding season … more on all of this another night. More research necessary before continuing with the subject.

A friend was in town from Seattle and we hooked up around noon and headed down to the ponds for some shooting and after that another stop before heading back into town for a sandwich at the Wildflower Bakery and another SF Vanilla latte. The weather was perfect and mildly cool winds were refreshing. Finished with a stop at Eric’s on the way home and for a change there were not that many birds there. Home for a short break before heading out for the night and drafting some fun documents with a friend. A good collaboration which will be continuing later tonight.

One was glad to see me when I rolled in and we enjoyed the final episode of Justified … have truly enjoyed that series and it will be missed.

Scientists are warning of a an eminent threat to civilization from a major volcanic eruption … they believe it will kill hundreds of thousands of people … possibly lead to another ice age and lead to destruction of crops causing widespread starvation. They have a solution though; they want about two billion dollars in funding per year to study the problem and how it can be mitigated when it happens. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3039652/Will-volcanic-eruption-destroy-humanity-Scientists-warn-world-begin-preparing-explosive-global-catastrophe.html Please note, they will not be able to prevent it from occurring, but the billions per year that will flow into their coffers will certainly help them … seems like a very familiar theme to me.

I believe I will start a research center to begin preparing for the inevitable collision between our galaxy the Milky Way with the larger Andromeda Galaxy. Although I think it could be fun to be a billionaire, I will set a more modest goal of only 500 million dollars a year and hire some scientists with whom we can collaborate and come up first with models to predict what will happen as this collision begins and since it will last millions of years the research will have to go on for a very long time benefitting human kind and my heirs far into the future. Many individuals have beat me on other crises, but I think this could be dramatic and with the possible fate of the galaxy in play I would think it could sell very well. Life is funny and so are a great number of people, but we can save everything … and that we will be able to find solutions to it all … if not immediately, certainly before the next big bang occurs … wait, if we discover intelligent life on other planets perhaps we can sell them on this too … naw, by definition if they are intelligent they will never go along with a proposal like this.

Have a beautiful day today and enjoy everything that life has to offer … choose beauty and life led to the fullest. We’re here … Wow!!!

    Cheers

    What Would I Change?
    By Amaya Gayle Gregory

What would I change if I could? You and I both know I can’t, but it’s a fun exercise anyway. I would have been less of a know-it-all on my spiritual journey. It seems to be a side-effect of the path. Spiritual folks develop an all-knowing buffer to protect against their inevitable surrender to the unknown, but understanding that now didn’t make it gentler on me or those I loved, let alone those that I deemed not capable of getting it 😉 Yeah … I’d have dropped the spiritual snob act. I’d have recognized that spiritual radicals are only different on the outside from radical right Christians, and that the surface doesn’t really matter as much as I thought. We are all doing our couldn’t be otherwise things, playing our perfect roles. I’d have learned to bow down humbly before my fellow man, regardless of whether I agreed with him or not. We’re all in this together and not one of us will get out alive. Read more→
