… woman in a beautiful costume, against a beautiful Sedona sunset with a beautiful image of a galaxy or a billion …
I’m reworking a lot of images for use in the Philosophy/Photography salon that Andrea Houchard and I are doing at the Mary D. Fisher theater in West Sedona this Saturday at 1:30P. I was not entirely happy with what I originally did with this shot of our friend Sandra when she performed at a birthday party we had for Corky a few years ago … what fun. Anthony also played and our friend Fran co-hosted it with me and provided the venue up at her pool house … Corky has continued her journey as has Fran but the beauty of the moment continues unabated … and we continue our lives in the present … kinda fun to remember other times though and reinterpret through imagery the memories.
An integral part of the salon will be the discussion of photos … I know what I was thinking when I took the image and when I created a new context for the image … what is it that you see? What does it do or not do for you? This is one of the images that will be used in the salon this Saturday so give a little thought to it and come this Saturday and share your thoughts. It will be an interactive format at the salon as we will be discussing meanings, relationships and the use of photography to convey thoughts. Hope you will make it!
I finished the 2015 calendars and will have a supply of them at the Mary Fisher Theater so add another reason to attend … a proof sheet with the photos will go out tomorrow night. If you cannot attend and would like a calendar or ten please let me know soon. The pricing remains at $24.95 including tax and shipping.
Finally, this image is for my friend David Graham who is one of the kindest, most human, and innovative thinking persons I have ever known and his joyful outlook on life is infectious. David and Pat along with a great many people on this list were at the party for Corky and witnessed this beautiful performance by Sandra. Carpe Diem David … MIRABILE!!! and to everyone else too.
A fun day with a flight down to Falcon Field for some work on the Lambada and as usual the folks at Performance One aviation did a terrific job. Thanks Heath, Tammy, Rob, Kyle and all the other great people there. The tower was having fun too with only one runway in use and that was the short one … I think I was number eight for landing and ended up with nearly a six mile final … made up for that on the return to Sedona with about a two hundred foot final as I cranked it over into a continuous diving for the field downwind to base to final turn … much more normal for a glider guider.
Share your joy and a few smiles … might cause another person to smile and how good is that!
Cheers
Ted

Impose upon yourself the task of happiness;
And now and then abandon yourself
To the joy of laughter.
