Cindy will share her learnings from photographing wildlife (which includes birds)  both in Arizona and abroad. In the first half of her presentation, she will talk about choosing camera settings for fast-moving subjects, and techniques for capturing action and behavior.   In the second half, Cindy will discuss how to create appealing and impactful images, including composition and lighting.  Cindy will share examples of how these elements can be used in wildlife photos.

Cindy Marple has taking pictures since childhood, when she received a Kodak Instamatic camera one Christmas.  Nature subjects have always been her interest, starting with landscapes and flowers.  When digital came along, it opened the door to wildlife and bird photography.  Cindy travels worldwide, and has visited all 7 continents.  She has done photo tours in many regions in pursuit of birds and wildlife and other nature subjects.  Her favorite destination is the Antarctic region, because penguins are there!  She is a long-time member of the Phoenix Camera Club, and  judges for other local clubs as well as giving programs on various photo-related topics.  She also teaches photography classes through both Scottsdale and Chandler Recreation Departments.   Cindy’s photos can be seen on her website www.cindymarplephoto.com

Presentations, hosted by the Sedona Camera Club, are free to members.  There is a $5 fee for guests.  Local photographers are encouraged to join to support bringing high-quality speakers to promote interest in photography and develop photographic skills.  Membership costs $35 for the whole year.  For more information on the Sedona Camera Club, go to sedonacamera.club.
