    logo USFS USDASedona, AZ (October 18, 2011) –  Once again, the Coconino National Forest, Red Rock District welcomes the community and visitors alike, to come enjoy our “Solar Viewing & Star Gazing” presentation this coming Saturday, October 22. This interpretive event is presented by the Astronomers of Verde Valley and is free to the public. The “Solar Gazing” portion of the event is from 2 PM to 4:30 PM, and the “Star Gazing” presentation begins at 5:30 PM.

    Don’t forget to join us and take this opportunity and to learn more about our solar system and the advantages of living in a dark sky community. Please bring a red light with you if you have one, and don’t forget to dress appropriately.

    These programs are being hosted by Red Rock Ranger District in cooperation with the Arizona Natural History Association. The visitor center is located at 8375 State Route 179 (one mile south of the Village of Oak Creek).
