Sedona KindSedona AZ (November 9, 2021) – It all began ten years ago when a group of women gathered to start making Kindness Charms out of old, broken or discarded jewelry. “The idea was born on a ledge overlooking Dry Creek with a group of hiking friends,” said Sandy Brandvold, SedonaKind founder and Board member. “We wanted to do something, anything to help make the world a kinder place. We took our inspiration from the Ben’s Bells project in Tucson. We decided to make charms with a heart on each, and added the message, Take Me Home and Spread Kindness.”

The project continued when SedonaKind was formed six years ago, and to date, there have been over 7000 distributed in every state in the US and in 67 countries around the world. “If you go to our website SedonaKind.org and click on Inspirations, you can see photos and responses from people who have found the charms that somehow were meant for them,” says Brandvold.  “This year, in our Season of Kindness, we decided to distribute new charms here in our own town. They are meant as a gift, and a promise to keep spreading kindness. We hope you enjoy looking for the special one that is meant just for you!”

Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
