    20131203_crafts4Sedona AZ (December 3, 2013) – On Saturday, December 7, from 1 to 4, come do your Holiday Shopping at Sedona Winds Assisted Living, 475 Jacks Canyon Road in Village of Oak Creek. There will be hand-painted wine glasses, miniature carved gourds, pottery art, and wonderful jewelry. The Red Rock Quilters will be there with their creations. You can load up on natural soaps and lotions from the “Crazy Goat Lady.” Sedona Winds Chef Jeff will whip up a delicious bake sale…for all you non-bakers. There’s more: Pampered Chef items, photo art and crafted greeting cards and even a special “garage sale table” will help you find the perfect gift for people on your list…or for yourself.

    Gardens for Humanity is partnering with Sedona Winds to build an Organic Community Garden for the Sedona Winds residents and friends. Part of the proceeds from this Craft Fair will go to make sure they have a spring planting. Best of all, while you shop and check off your gift list, you can meet our wonderful residents and spread some holiday cheer. What a way to spend a Saturday! See you there!

    City Council Weighs ATV Ban Ordinance Proposal

    The Sedona City Council at its May 23, 2023 meeting took no action on a proposed ordinance that would ban all off-road vehicles from being driven on state-owned public roads or streets owned by the city. The ordinance, spearheaded by Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow on the premise that such vehicles pose a risk to the health, safety and welfare of the community, would impose heavy fines to anyone driving the ATVs or OHVs on city streets, including S.R. 179 and S.R. 89A. ATV rental companies have admitted that such vehicles are not intended or designed to be driven on paved roads, yet, in Arizona, they are allowed to do so under Arizona Revised Statute 28-1174 (4B). Opponents against the ordinance argued at the meeting that if adopted the ban would cripple the ATV rental industry in Sedona and cause much hardship to the owners and employees, as it would effectively, as written, destroy their livelihood.
