Rotary Club of SedonaVerde Valley News – In response to the deepening Ukrainian refugee crisis, The Rotary Foundation Trustees have prioritized contributions made to its Disaster Response Fund until April 30, 2022, to support disaster response grants for Rotary districts affected by these events. These expedited disaster response grants can be used to supply water, food, medicine, shelter, and clothing.

Rotary Clubs of Sedona, Sedona Village, Sedona Red Rocks, and Verde Valley contributed a total of $9,100 to the response fund. Club members are also making individual contributions and supporting other charities helping Ukrainian refugees.

“Our hearts are breaking to watch what’s happening to Ukraine and its people. We are so proud Rotary and Rotarians around the world are taking action,” said Linda M. Clark, on behalf of the Sedona and Verde Valley club presidents.

The United Nations says about 10 million refugees have fled Ukraine. Rotary clubs in Europe and around the world have stepped up their relief work, some working on the ground to help displaced families.

All four Rotary Clubs are affiliates of Rotary International, a service organization that works to promote peace and goodwill, world health, eradication of polio, the education of young people, and to make the community a better place through a variety of local service activities.

Belief vs. Suspicion: Will Iran go the Way of Iraq, Gaza and Palestine?

It was belief that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction that led us into war with Iraq. It’s suspicion that Iran seeks to build a nuclear warhead that has led us into war with them.
As it turned out, Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction. Will it be the same with Iran?
