    Sedona Fire District Responds to Fatal Fall
    at Midgley Bridge

    logo_sedonafiredistrictSedona AZ (September 2, 2017) – At 1:58 pm on September 2, 2017, Sedona fire crews were dispatched for an extreme fall injury below Midgley Bridge. Upon arrival, Battalion Chief Dave Cochrane located the victim on a ledge approximately 65 feet below the trail that they had fallen from. BC Cochrane directed his firefighters to rappel the vertical rock face to establish rapid contact with the victim. After firefighters gained access they determined that the victim was a 2-1/2 year old child and was deceased.

    The family of the child is on vacation visiting the area from Omaha, Nebraska.

    The scene was turned over to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office who will be investigating the incident and recovering the body. All further inquiries regarding this incident should be directed to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office PIO.
