    Festival partners with The Wilde Resort & Spa for “Wilde Wednesdays” outdoor films

    Sedona, AZ — The Sedona International Film Festival is partnering with The Wilde Resort in West Sedona to present its “Movies on the Move” outdoor film experience — “Wilde Wednesdays” Cinema Under the Stars — every Wednesday in the summer season!

    Join us on Wednesday, July 2 as we present “Rocketman” in The Grove Fire Pit Garden at The Wilde Resort and Spa.

    “Rocketman” won both the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. The film was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Picture and won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Taron Egerton.

    “Rocketman” is an epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John’s breakthrough years.

    Young Reginald Dwight changes his name to Elton John and collaborates with singer-songwriter Bernie Taupin to become one of the most iconic figures in pop history. Set to his most beloved songs, it’s the epic musical story of Elton John, his breakthrough years in the 1970s and his fantastical transformation from shy piano prodigy to international superstar.

    Bring your lawn chair or blanket and relax in front of a massive outdoor movie screen. Enjoy food and beverage offerings from The Wilde Resort and fun movie concessions.

    The Wilde Resort and Spa is also offering local “Stay-cation” getaway packages with special $199 nightly rate for a Grove room (arriving Wednesday), including a complimentary bottle of wine (red or white), waived resort fees, and late check-out at noon. Mention booking code “D-WWED” when making the reservation.

    “Rocketman” will be shown outdoors at The Wilde Resort and Spa (2250 W. State Route 89A in West Sedona) on Wednesday, July 2 at dusk. Seating will begin at 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs. Parking is free and available at The Wilde Resort and Spa.

    Tickets are only $10 each, and kids 12 and under are free of charge.

    The Sedona City Council through a majority consensus voted 5–1 at its Wednesday, August 13, special meeting, to temporarily shelve a controversial auto license-reading surveillance program, with council members  Melissa Dunn, Kathy Kinsella  Brian Fultz,  Derek J. Pfaf and Pete Furman giving a thumbs down,  and Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow supporting the cameras.
