Sedona AZ (July 16, 2016) – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to partner with the Mental Health Coalition Verde Valley to present the Northern Arizona premiere of the multiple award-winning film “A Light Beneath Their Feet” showing Monday, July 25. There will be one show only at 7 p.m. at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

“A Light Beneath Their Feet” stars SAG award winning actress Taryn Manning (Orange is the New Black) and Madison Davenport (From Dusk ‘Til Dawn).

The film offers a moving and genuine look at living with mental illness. An audience favorite on the festival circuit (winner of the Audience Choice at Mill Valley), “A Light Beneath Their Feet” has the support of numerous mental health organizations including Glenn Close’s Bring Change 2 Mind.

Emotionally raw and bracingly honest, this coming-of-age drama balances the pull of family obligation against personal aspirations.

In a commanding performance, SAG award winning actress, Taryn Manning plays Gloria, a mother, wrestling with bipolar disorder and an imminent empty nest. Dedicated daughter Beth has a bright future ahead, but must decide if she will stay near home to care for her unpredictable mom or follow her own path.

“Ultimately moving, ‘A Light Beneath Their Feet’ is a triumph of empathetic filmmaking!” raves Matt Fagerholm, RogerEbert.com.

” ‘A Light Beneath Their Feet’ boasts outstanding, nuanced, empathetic performances by Taryn Manning and Madison Davenport and a sensitive portrayal of a mother-daughter relationship,” says Katherine Brodsky, Variety.

“Really beautiful and most endearing. ‘A Light Beneath Their Feet’ is heart-wrenching and beautiful in its authenticity, all without producing stigma against mental illness in the portrayal or the film!” says Pamela Harrington, Executive Director of Bring Change 2 Mind.

“A Light Beneath Their Feet” will show at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Monday, July 25 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona.
