    Sedona AZ (September 26, 2015) – “Raven Mad” is selected for the “Seasons and Cycles” art exhibit at the Herberger Theater Center in downtown Phoenix from October 3. 2015 to January 3, 2016. The public opening reception is on Friday, October 3, 2015 from 5-7:30 pm.

    A “blind” jury composed of an esteemed panel of artists chose 38 pieces of artwork from 488 qualified submissions. The guest curator of the exhibit is photographer Georgia Michalicek.

    20150926_Raven-Mad-GNW_2149WHelsaple’s painting is a 3-D sculptural Watercolor.  “I used an expanded technique of traditional watercolor with multiple painted, overlapping paper images, cutout, embossed and raised above the surface. The rope, flowers, rocks on the cliff, grass, carbineer, and bracelet on the climber are cut-out and embossed.”

    “We humans explore opportunities to challenge our endurance and land-locked agility skills.  Often our activities place us in the path of other inhabitants in that environment, and they may not appreciate the daring quests of the adventurous.”

    The “Seasons and Cycles” exhibit includes the works of 38 artists, including Sedona photographer Stephanie Brand, and painter, Stephanie Peters, and it will be open until January 3, 2016. For more info: .  Phone: 602-252-8497

Are we merely meat; flesh and blood creations encapsulating what we believe is a soul? Or is a single life the microcosm and macrocosm of human life on earth, each one of us a unique representation of who we believe we are and the whole of humanity at once? We are born. We grow old.
